Cooke Aqua's Spanish sea bream and sea bass producer Culmarex opens modern processing plant

Cooke Aquaculture's Spanish sea bream and sea bass producing subsidiary, Culmárex Group, celebrated the opening of state-of-the-art production facility in Águilas.
The plant is equpped to process 24,000 tons of the Group's sea bass and sea bream products. Since 2011, Culmárex has more than doubled the production of its name brand items to 18,000 tons per year, while increasing export values from 45 Million euros (US$61 million) to 100 Million euros ($136 million)
Culmarex used investments from its parent company Cooke to expand its processing capabiltiies after the Group acquired two farming sites to its operations. An investment of €1.5 million ($2 million) expanded the Aguilas plant facility by 2,000 m2 making it the largest fish packing plant of sea bass and sea bream in the Mediterranean Region...(more)
