AquaChile predicts Q1 Atlantic salmon output to more than double on strong global market

AquaChile expects its Alantic salmon production to more than double in the first quarter this year compared to 2014 as the Chilean producer anticipates its overall fish output to rise over 25 percent.
In a recent investor presentation AquaChile estimated it would produce 15,391 tons of Atlantic salmon, up 104 percent from the first quarter in 2013.
The company said strong global demand and better prices for Atlantics are the primary drivers for the first quarter boost in production. In fact, strong retail promotions in Europe have continued despite the increased prices.
