Mexico Opens Shrimp Fisheries in Parts of Pacific and Gulf of Mexico

Mexico has opened shrimp fishing in parts of the Gulf of Mexico and Pacific Ocean as the country begins its fall fishing season for several key species.
Mexico’s National Commission of Aquaculture and Fisheries, or Conapesca, announced the openings based on recommendations from the Mexican Institute for Sustainable Fisheries and Aquaculture Research, known as IMIPAS. The measures are intended to support the conservation and sustainable management of marine and freshwater resources.
