Japan, Russia Agree on 2,050-Ton Salmon Quota for 2026

According to the Minato Shimbun, the Fisheries Agency of Japan announced on March 20 that it had reached an agreement with Russia regarding the operating conditions for Russian-origin salmon and trout fishing conducted by Japanese fishing vessels within Japan's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) for the current season. Both the catch quota and equipment provision remain the same as the previous year.
