Chile’s Sernapesca, Carabineros Shut Down Illegal Seafood Processing Plant

Chile's National Fisheries and Aquaculture Service (SERNAPESCA), working with the Carabineros police, shut down an illegal seafood processing facility after a probe triggered by a citizen complaint, the agencies announced Feb. 27.
The regional prosecutor’s office in La Araucanía asked the Police Investigation Section (SIP) of the Carabineros’ 2nd Police Station in Temuco to investigate a processing plant in the city’s eastern sector.
