Progress Slow on Fisheries Heritage Center

The proposed waterfront facility will create a centre dedicated to the town’s fishing history and maritime culture. While the initiative is still active, committee members say the project is entering a more complex planning stage that will take more time to complete before construction begins.
Bill MacMillan, a member of the Canso and Area Development Association (CADA) and part of the committee overseeing the project, said the group established an organization last year to guide the work: the Canso Peninsula Fisheries Heritage Society.
