Fisheries Group Seeks to Limit Albacore Catch
AN international fisheries organization is working on a management procedure this year for the conservation of the migratory tuna species South Pacific albacore to avoid negative economic implications.
Member countries of the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC) are considering adopting a measure that would restrict the amount of catch of albacore and how to allocate it, said the group's executive director, Rhea Moss-Christian, in a statement Monday.
