Sealord and Captain Found Guilty

A captain’s failure to examine a crewman as his health deteriorated aboard a trawler was a breach of health and safety laws, a judge has found.
The crewman, whose name was suppressed, died aboard the Sealord trawler off the Chatham Islands in June 2022 from fatal peritonitis caused by a perforated duodenal ulcer.
