 One of Brazil's oldest trading partners, Norway wants to use the signing of the agreement between Mercosur and EFTA (European Free Trade Association) as a platform to challenge Chile's reign over salmon.
One of Brazil's oldest trading partners, Norway wants to use the signing of the agreement between Mercosur and EFTA (European Free Trade Association) as a platform to challenge Chile's reign over salmon.
Almost 48% of the country's fish imports come from Chile, mainly salmon.
"We have a framework for cooperation in the fisheries sector that is more promising than ever. It's an agreement that can benefit Norwegian salmon," says Marianne Sivertsen Naess, Norway's Minister for Fisheries and Ocean Policy.
