US Initial Jobless Claims Decline at Faster Pace Than Expected
US initial jobless claims were lower than expected in the week just ended, numbers from the Department of Labor showed Thursday.
In the week ending September 13, new claims for unemployment insurance fell to 231,000, from 264,000 a week prior. The prior figure was upwardly revised from 263,000. The latest figure was below the FXStreet cited consensus of 240,000.
The four-week moving average declined slightly to 240,000 from 240,750. Continuing jobless claims in the week to September 6 fell to 1.920 million from 1.927 million...
