NPFMC to Tackle 'C-shares'

At its next meeting in October the North Pacific Fishery Management Council will pore over a Regulatory Impact Review for a proposed amendment to the Fishery Management Plan (FMP) for Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands (BSAI) king and tanner crab fisheries. The amendment would modify the eligibility requirements for transfers of "C-shares," or crew quota, and increase the cap on how much an individual could hold.
