Conapesca Trains 1,200 Crew Members in Sustainable Shrimp Fisheries

The National Commission of Aquaculture and Fisheries (Conapesca), under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, trained 1,227 crew members of shrimp vessels in eight states of the country to ensure the correct use of Sea Turtle Excluder Devices (TEDs) and Fish Excluder Devices (FEDs). These tools, which are mandatory, reduce bycatch and contribute to the conservation of marine life, in addition to opening the door to certification for exporting Mexican shrimp to the United States in 2026.
