Gulf Shrimp Fishery Off Texas Reopens July 15
NOAA Fisheries recently announced the reopening of the commercial shrimp season for both Texas and federal waters off the U.S. Gulf Coast.
The opening applies to shrimp trawlers in federal waters from 9 to 200 nautical miles off Texas starting 30 minutes after official sunset, local time, on July 15, 2025. This also corresponds to when Texas is set to reopen its state waters to shrimp trawling, which includes Gulf waters from the coastline out to nine nautical miles.
