Fishermen Rescued in Multiple Close Calls Across Bristol Bay
Five people have recently been saved from mishaps aboard Bristol Bay fishing vessels, during a series of close calls and rescues starting in late June.
On June 28, Alaska Wildlife Troopers responded to a report of an overturned commercial fishing boat in the Ugashik district, near Pilot Point. All three people aboard were rescued.
That same week, deckhands fell overboard in the Naknek River and in the Egegik district. They were both rescued by nearby crews.
