UK Grocer Tesco Updates Farmed Decapod Crustacean Welfare Policy

UK grocer Tesco has updated its farmed decapod crustacean welfare policy  a welfare commitment that is being praised by nonprofit group Mercy For Animals.

Tesco’s policy was updated with the goal to provide transparency across supply chains and drive improvements. As part of the policy, all of the grocer’s farmed products must come from farms that comply with a recognized assurance scheme, such as the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC), Global GAP or BAP.
