Four Bodies Recovered From Wrangell Landslide, Two Still Missing as Road Clearing Continues
Last Saturday evening a fourth body was recovered from the devastating landslide on Wrangell Island that hit one week ago today. Four people are now confirmed dead and two still missing from the landslide that destroyed three houses and buried 450 feet of the only highway on the island with trees, mud and rocks. The disaster hit last Monday just before 9 p.m. Two of the houses were inhabited; a third was unoccupied.
