NOAA Announces Arrival of El Niño
NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center announced late last week that El Niño has arrived and is expected to “gradually strengthen into the winter.”
El Niño is a climate pattern in the Pacific Ocean that can affect our weather. According to NOAA, during El Niño, “trade winds weaken,” and “warm water is pushed back east, toward the west coast of the Americas.”
