Snow Crabbers Continue to Hold Out, say $2.20 Price is ‘Unviable’

Almost 50 fish harvesters that represent their fleets on the Inshore Council and Crab Committees met on April 28 as fishermen continue to hold out from starting the snow crab season in Newfoundland and Labrador.
FFAW said that over the last week, it has contacted one thousand snow crab license holders and the “consensus from respondents is that the price of 2.20 is unviable for their enterprise.”
