ANALYSIS: December 2022 Shrimp Imports Decline Faster than Expected; Annual Volume Drops
In data released Tuesday, December U.S. shrimp imports fell 30.0 percent, rounding out significant declines in every month for the second half of the year. This trend completely reversed the first six months which showed growth and ignited talk of record annual imports. December imports were 135.853 million pounds against 194.101 million pounds last year. December 2022 was the second largest month on record. UB Consulting estimated 140.326 million pounds.
