ANALYSIS: Sharp Declines in October Shrimp Imports Erase Early Year Gains
In data released today, October U.S. shrimp imports fell sharply again for the fourth straight month, and erased the gains made earlier in the year. October imports were 153.009 million pounds, 18.6 percent below last year’s record of 187.990 million pounds Through the first ten months, imports have now slipped below last year for the first time all year. At 1.571 billion pounds, it is two percent lower than 2021 figures of 1.602 billion pounds.
