Whales are Sticking Around in California; Commercial Crab Season Remains Closed
Whales off the California have no idea they're impinging on the commercial Dungeness crab fishery, but that's just the way it goes.
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife surveys and information from commercial whale-watching trips showed a number of whales still present in the areas south of Point Arena, Calif. CDFW Director Charlton Bonham consequently delayed the season in Central and Southern California for a second time, he announced Monday.
