Faroe Island Queen Scallop Fisheries Land MSC Certification
The Faroe Island queen scallop fishery achieved Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification, per an announcement from the group.
The fishery is operated by one company, O.C. Joensen, who is also the fishery client, and this stock has been harvested from one vessel for decades, the MSC shared. The date of eligibility for this certification is September 1, so any product caught after that date can display the MSC ecolabel.
