Texas: Commercial Gulf of Mexico Shrimp Season Opens July 15
Mark your calendars. The Gulf of Mexico commercial shrimp season for both Texas and federal water will reopen after sunset on Friday, July 15.
The fishery closed in mid-May to allow the brown shrimp to reach a larger and more valuable size before harvest, as well as to prevent waste of the species that might be discarded due to the smaller size.
