Child Nutrition Program Gets $943M Boost to Buy American-Grown Foods in Nation’s Schools
In response to serious challenges of higher costs and disruptions in the supply chain that are faced by child nutrition program operators across the country, the Biden administration signed two Congressional actions yesterday. First, a $943 million boost in funding for child nutrition programs, that will be distributed by state agencies to schools across the country. The nearly $1 billion in additional funding to schools allows them to buy American-grown foods for their meal programs.
