Inshore Rescue Boat Station in Rankin Inlet Opens for the Season
The Canadian Coast Guard's Inshore Rescue Boat station in Rankin Inlet, Nunavut is now open for the season. The station is crewed by Indigenous members hired and trained by the Canadian Coast Guard under Canada's Oceans Protection Plan.
The Inshore Rescue Boat program provides hands-on work experience to crew members who learn life-saving skills, and provides additional maritime search and rescue services during the summer season.
