Chile Environmental Body Hits Australis Seafoods with Overproduction Charge
Chilean Salmon farmer Australis Seafoods’ Australis Mar branch was hit with multiple charges from Chile’s Environmental Superintendency (SMA).
The SMA charged the company with overproduction of over 3,000 tons between January 22, 2018 and December 22, 2019. Another minor charge was also mentioned regarding the surpassing of the maximum parameters of total suspended solids, fecal coliforms, among others, of the effluent from the center's Wastewater Treatment Plant.
