Cermaq, Benchmark Animal Health Net Funding to Develop Salmon Disease Vaccine
Aquaculture biotech company Benchmark Animal Health and salmon farmer Cermaq Group landed NOK 4.2 million (US$483,000) to develop a vaccine against salmon diseases caused by Tenacibaculum bacteria.
The funding comes from the Research Council of Norway to support a project on the road to vaccine development. It will allow both firms to combine their expertise. Benchmark’s biotechnology and fish health innovation expertise and Cermaq’s research into Tenacibaculum bacteria.
