Oregon Ports, Especially Small Ports, Need Help Now, Lawmakers Say
Oregon's congressional leaders are urging the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to help Oregon's small ports.
Earlier this month, Democrat Rep. Peter DeFazio, the Chair of the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, along with Sens. Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden, also Democrats, and Democrat Reps. Earl Blumenauer, Kurt Schrader and Suzanne Bonamici and Republican Cliff Bentz sent a letter to the Corps, pushing to include funding for Oregon’s port infrastructure as the agency implements the recently passed Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021.
