Japan’s October Tuna Imports Down 40% For Fresh And Chilled, 28% for Frozen
According to the customs statistics of the Ministry of Finance, the import result of fresh and chilled tuna in October was 471 tons, down 40% from the same month of the previous year, and 877 million yen ($7.70 million), down 22%. Frozen tuna was 11,768 ton, down 28%, and 10,388 million yen ($91.23 million), up 8%. Processed tuna was 4,190 tons, up 4%, and 2,559 million yen ($22.47 million), up 6%, Suisan Keizai reported.
