Bristol Bay 2022 Salmon Forecast Highest Ever, Two Buyers Raise 2021 Base Price to $1.45/lb

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game has released the highest preliminary forecast in memory for the Bristol Bay salmon run next year at 75.27 million sockeye salmon. That’s 44% larger than the most recent 10-year average of Bristol Bay total runs (52.09 million) and 111% greater than the long-term average of 35.73 million fish. The long-term time period is from 1963 through 2021.
