Maine Food Projects Net $3.5 Million in Federal Grants to Boost Local, Regional Food Systems
Federal funding for five Maine-based projects which will aim to strengthen and explore new market opportunities for both Maine and New England’s food systems, Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-Maine) announced on November 29.
The grants, totaling $3.5 million, heading to Maine will target multiple agriculture products in the state including seafood with projects heading to the Gulf of Maine Research Institute, Food Fork Lab and Community Shellfish Company.
