DOJ Settles Clean Water Act Violations Against Fishing Companies, Manager, Vessel Engineer
The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced San Diego-based JM Fisheries LLC, G.S. Fisheries Inc., the companies’ manager, and the chief engineer of the commercial fishing vessel Capt. Vincent Gann has agreed to pay $725,000 in civil penalties to settle Clean Water Act claims.
The DOJ explained that the Clean Water Act violations stem from oil pollution on the vessel. Alongside the payment, the companies and the manager have agreed to perform corrective measures to prevent future violations...
