JBS Lands Approval from Australian Government for Huon Aquaculture Acquisition
Brazil-based meatpacking giant JBS’ bid to acquire Huon Aquaculture was approved by Australia’s Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB).
The move pushes the potential acquisition forward as much of the wait since JBS first announced its intentions to buy the Tasmanian salmon farmer in August revolved around government approval.
Following the FIRB approval, Huon Aquaculture shareholders will hold a vote on the proposed acquisition at The Scheme Meetings and Annual General Meeting on October 29.
