American Seafoods Nets Injunction in Jones Act Case, Millions of Pounds of Pollock Reenters Market
American Seafoods subsidiaries Kloosterboer International Forwarding LLC (KIF) and Alaska Reefer Management LLC (ARM) received a preliminary injunction from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)’s enforcement actions which includes hundreds of millions of dollars in fines.
The injunction, granted by U.S. District Judge Sharon L. Gleason covers 26 million pounds of seafood shipped from Alaska and has since stalled in Bayside, Canada. Now, the company can ship pollock without threat of future enforcement actions and fines until the case between KIF, ARM...
