Japan: August Seafood Imports Up 19% in Value, 11% in Volume Over 2020
According to the August trade preliminary report released by the Ministry of Finance on September 16, imports of seafood (excluding non-edible marine products) have increased significantly in quantity and value. They are recovering from the slump in the first half. In particular, the import value has continued to grow significantly, reported Suisan Keizai.
August imports were 156,750 tons, worth 122,877 million yen ($1,121 million), up 10.8% in volume and 19.4% in value showing double-digit growth compared to the same month of the previous year...
