Nova Austral Hit With $1.5 Million Fine for Concealing Fish Mortality Information
Chile’s Superintendency of the Environment (SMA) said it fined Norwegian salmon farmer Nova Austral $1.54 million for five infractions.
According to the SMA, Nova Austral was fined for concealing information and handling mortalities, with a difference of close to 20,000 kilos of fish from those whose final destination is unknown in their Aracena 19 farming center, located inside the Alberto de Agostini National Park, Punta Arenas commune, Magallanes Region and Chilean Antarctica.
