Alaska Regional Administrator Jim Balsiger Retiring From NOAA Fisheries After 47 Years
Last month Dr. Jim Balsiger, Alaska’s Regional Administrator for NOAA’ Fisheries, announced he’s retiring effective November 30. Balsiger, who has held that position for over 21 years and has served NOAA Fisheries for 47 years, has already begun to cede some of his duties to Doug Mecum, the Deputy Regional Administrator in Alaska.
