Aquaculture: Construction Begins on "Sea Dragon" Prawn Farm Project in Australia
Construction has begun on Seafarms’ massive tiger prawn farm in the Northern Territory of Australia, according to local press sources.
Known as “Project Sea Dragon”, the operation reportedly represents an investment of over AUD 1.87 billion and will be the biggest aquaculture project of the Southern Hemisphere, according to the Australian Associated Press. It will include both a prawn farm in Bynoe Harbour and grow out at Legune Station, as well as a processing plant.
