Norwegian Cod Farmer Loses 24% of Facility's Fish in Mortality Event
Norway-based cod farmer Statt Torsk lost 48,000 fish in a mortality event at its Stokkeneset facility.
The lost fish represented a biomass of about 106 tonnes and makes up 24% of fish that were in the facility, the company said. The incident occurred in 2 of the 3 pens at the site.
Statt Torsk said the incident was an external happening but results of samples taken from the pens are expected next week.
