Shark Fin Sales Elimination Act Passed By U.S. Senate
Global oceanic shark and ray populations have declined by more than 70% over the last 50 years, according to a recent study published in Nature. The root cause of the issue was overfishing, but the U.S. is now taking a step towards rectifying the problem. Earlier this week the U.S. Senate passed the Shark Fin Sales Elimination Act.
