JAPAN: April Preliminary Report Shows Stalling Imports Again
According to the April preliminary trade report released by the Ministry of Finance on May 20, the quantity of seafood imports (excluding non-edible marine products) decreased again. The value continued a positive increase for three months in a row but remained at the same low level as the previous year when it plummeted due to the COVID.
Imports of seafood in April were 173,336 tons, or 132,370 million yen ($1205.14 million); a decrease of 3.6% and an increase of 1.9% compared to the same month of the previous year...
