JAPAN: March Salmon Imports From Chile Up 67% to 17,815 Tons
According to the March customs statistics released by the Ministry of Finance, the import volume of salmon and trout, from fresh fish to processed seafood, was favorable compared to the same month of the previous year. As quantity increased, fresh and frozen import values exceeded last year's levels. Frozen Chilean coho is skyrocketing at the fastest pace ever, as reported by Suisan Keizai.
The total imports from fresh to processed products in March were 32,134 tons, or 23,999.49 million yen ($220.81 million)...
