DFO, Prawn Industry Partner to Ensure ‘Tubbing’ Process Continues for 2021 Season
Minister of Fisheries, Oceans, and the Canadian Coast Guard Bernadette Jordan announced that an interim protocol would be introduced that will allow harvesters to freeze their catch, a process called, “tubbing.”
The protocol was developed by the Pacific Prawn Fishermen's Association and will help prawn harvesters ensure that their catch, including catch frozen in tubs, is readily available for inspection by Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) Fishery Officers and legally available for sale.
