ANALYSIS: March Shrimp Imports Surge Against Low 2020
March shrimp import totals were released today, and as expected blew past last year’s figures given the initial shutdowns that occurred in March 2020. At a little more than 138 million pounds, this was a 21 percent increase from 114.110 million pounds in the same month a year ago. Year-to-date figures are now nearly 10 percent above the first quarter of 2020.
