U.S. Bans Wild Shrimp Imports From Mexico
Late last week the U.S. announced that they would be banning wild caught shrimp imports from Mexico. Only shrimp from Mexico harvested from aquaculture is eligible to enter the country.
“The Department suspended the certification of Mexico because its sea turtle protection program is no longer comparable to that of the United States,” the notice in the Federal Register reads.
