Chicken of the Sea On Cusp of $13 Million Settlement in Tuna Price-Fixing Case
Thai Union-owned Chicken of the Sea International and a group of Direct Purchaser Plaintiffs (DPPs) have settled a class-action lawsuit relating to the tuna price-fixing scandal, per federal court documents.
The settlement, which is awaiting approval from U.S. District Judge Janis L. Sammartino, will pay the DPPs, classified as wholesalers and distributors who bought directly from tuna canners, approximately $13 million.
