JAPAN: 2020 Shrimp Imports Fell 11.0% to $2.13 million
The Ministry of Finance recently announced that the total import volume of shrimp in 2020 was 214,460 tons, a decrease of 5.5%. The import value was worth 231,068 million yen ($2,125 million), an 11.0% decline. Due to the new coronavirus's influence, a cautious purchasing stance continued and the overall import was sluggish. As the dollar value of the exporting countries fell, the import unit price also fell.
