JAPAN: In January Imports, Chilean Coho up 20%, Norwegian Mackerel Increased 70%
January marine product imports preliminary figures based on the Ministry of Finance's trade statistics on February 25 decreased by 8% from the same month of the previous year to 175,319 tons, Minato Shimbun compiled. Fresh and frozen salmon and trout increased 13% to 29,681 tons, but other prominent seafood decreased. Fresh and frozen tuna decreased 10% to 13,005 tons, and fresh and frozen shrimp decreased 15% to 11,286 tons.
