New Zealand’s Sanford To Pay Fine; Forfeit $20 Million Vessel Following Fishing in Restricted Area
New Zealand-based Sanford announced it will pay a $36,000 fine (USD $26,000) and forfeit its San Waitaki vessel, valued at $20 million (USD 14 million) following a judge’s decision after Sanford harvested fish from a protected area.
The company accepted the court’s decision, and said it was an “entirely unintentional” action.
