Toyosu Market's January Imported Tuna Sales Down 49.2%
The number of fresh tuna sold in January at the Toyosu Market in Tokyo, which Jiji Press compiled, was 333, a decrease of 49.2% from the same month of the previous year, almost half. Due to the prolonged new coronavirus pandemic, the number of bluefin tuna from the Mediterranean and North America has decreased. The number of bigeye tuna has dropped significantly due to Guam's production interruption, reported Suisan Keizai.
